Tentative Details / Agenda
Given the acute time difference, venue limitation and also the need to ensure that the IO Extended event is devoid of tedium, we have tentative plans only for Thursday June 28 (5:30pm – 7:30pm) and our agenda will include live streaming of the sessions listed below and preparations for the Google IO Develop for good Hackathon. We can coordinate our development efforts towards both the Good Develop for good Hackathon and the Upcoming Google apps Contest.
Thursday June 28 5pm – 6pm
Building Mobile App Engine Backends for Android, iOS and the Web (Live from San Francisco)
Mobile application development is growing at explosive rates and the best of those applications have a backend server. Find out how you can use App Engine’s new feature to build powerful APIs to support mobile applications running on Android, iOS, and mobile browsers.
Thursday June 28 6:15pm – 7:15pm
Google Develop for Good Hackathon. The develop for good hackathon is modelled across 3 challenges (Citizen Engagement for Politics and Elections, Conflict reporting for blackout situations in repressive regimes, Google green), and all IO Extended participants are welcom to submit entries any platform or tools to address the challenge. (You are encouraged to use the Google API’s 🙂 ). These themes cut across stuff many of us here at GTUG are already doing so we could wrap it up and enter for the chance to win a ticket to Google IO 2013 amongst other things! More on the hackathon can be found here https://sites.google.com/site/ioextended12/home/google-develop-for-good
We will be updating this space regularly over the next two days and would absolutely love to hear your feedback!
